The 40th Symposium on Dynamical Properties of Solids (DyProSo 2025) was held from 8–12 September 2025 in Prague, Czech Republic. This biennial international event gathers researchers from around the world to discuss new ideas in the physics of excitations in condensed matter and related fields.
PHOENIX partner FZU (Institute of Physics of the Czech Academy of Sciences) took an active role in the program of the symposium with two poster presentations closely linked to PHOENIX research activities:
- Frequency-dependent dielectric losses of ferroelectric BaTiO₃ by molecular dynamics with atomistic models – related to Task 2.5: Limits of dielectric response in PIC materials
- Soft-mode anharmonicity in rutile TiO₂ probed by terahertz and infrared spectroscopy – related to Task 3.5: Ex-situ THz characterization of dielectric losses
These contributions highlight the ongoing work within PHOENIX to better understand and model dielectric phenomena in photonic integrated circuit (PIC) materials, contributing to the project’s broader goal of advancing next-generation photonic technologies.
DyProSo 2025 provided an excellent forum for scientific exchange, reinforcing the strong links between fundamental materials research and photonics innovation.
